1. You are dealing with chronic pain
According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), a number of studies suggest that acupuncture works particularly well on chronic pain such as back and neck pain and osteoarthritis/knee pain. “Therefore,” the NIH concludes, “acupuncture appears to be a reasonable option for people with chronic pain to consider.” Pain relief with acupuncture comes from inactivating the source of pain by modulating endorphin levels.

2. Your periods are painful or irregular or have hormone imbalances
Chinese medicine offers even more tools to address premenstrual syndrome.
Acupuncture removes energy blockages and in turn stabilizes hormonal
fluctuations. It also provides deep relaxation that helps to calm the mind. Chinese
herbs work together with acupuncture to regulate the flow of energy and
substances in the body. Together they stimulate the body’s natural functions and
encourage it to establish optimum balance.

3. You’re stressed and anxious and therapy alone hasn’t helped
External circumstances beyond your control can set off your anxiety and stress
and acupuncture allows your body to take back control. It helps create
stronger internal peace and resilience so the body is less reactive to stressors
and therefor reduces the amount of negative physical manifestations stress and
anxiety create in the body. This occurs by slowing the body’s
production of stress hormones.

4. You’re an insomniac
A study found that in patients with insomnia and anxiety, acupuncture increased nighttime melatonin production and total sleep time. The patients who received acupuncture also fell asleep faster, were less aroused at night, and were less stressed.
Whether it’s difficult for you to fall asleep, stay asleep during the night, or you’re
a light and restless sleeper, it is important to address insomnia as soon as possible.
If you’re not sleeping you’re not optimizing healing time and an opportunity to cultivate energy, not to mention you feel awful while you’re awake.

5. You suffer from allergies
Acupuncture can dramatically lessen allergic reactions, or in some cases
help the sufferer tolerate what caused the symptoms. It also enables most
people to reduce or eliminate their dependence on allergy medication. We
like to use a two-phased approach when treating seasonal allergies. The first,
during the pollen season, and the second, after the pollen season, or when the symptoms have cleared. Our focus is on treating the underlying problem by strengthening the immune system. After an initial series of treatments, further treatments are provided as needed.

6. Your digestion is whacky
If you experience gas, bloating, acid reflux, indigestion, constipation,
diarrhea, IBS, take digestive aids often, find yourself sleepy after meals, get
sick often or suffer from chronic fatigue, then we are working with a gut
issue. Acupuncture is a safe and effective way to help restore function back
to an impaired digestive system that has been struggling both acutely or
chronically. Acupuncture works by nourishing related organs, reducing
inflammation of the stomach and pancreas and improving digestive
functions. It can help with gastrointestinal muscle contractions and
relaxation, replete digestive acids to help break down food, speed
metabolism and regulate bowels. In conjunction with food modification and
Chinese herbals, acupuncture is extremely beneficial for gastrointestinal
symptoms. In simple terms, you will feel so much better and realize this discomfort you’d been tolerating is not how you’re supposed to go through life!

7. You are active and want to stay active
Football players from the New York Jets, Minnesota Vikings, San Diego
Chargers and more have all turned to acupuncture to effectively treat their
old and new injuries and prevent future ones. If you are a weekend warrior,
cross fit junkie or a competitive athlete the most important thing you can do
is maintain a healthy body. Acupuncture has proven to be effective in
reducing pain, speeding recovery times and improving physical
performance. It stimulates the body in a way to helps it boost its ability to heal itself efficiently while optimizing muscle strength and peak performance.

8. You get headaches or migraines
Although we have normalized getting daily dull tension headaches, sinus
pressure headaches, menstrual headaches or the debilitating migraine,
there is nothing normal about them. We were not born to suffer through
headaches, they are signals from the body telling you something is not
right. Acupuncture stimulates the body’s natural painkillers, releases
endorphins, increases blood flow and stimulate nerves, muscles and
tissues. Each headache patient is evaluated and although we may have 50
patients coming to see us for headaches/migraines we most likely will be
doing 50 different treatments. It is never one size fits all and each patient
will have individualized treatment plans.

9. You have been diagnosed with an Auto-Immune condition
Autoimmune conditions are on the rise. Some of the most commonly heard are: Lupus, Celiac Disease, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ulcerative Colitis and many more. Autoimmune conditions are a result of the immune system mistakenly attacking its own tissues and glands. According to the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association more than 20% of the
population suffer from some form of AI disorder and symptoms vary greatly
between them all. Some of the most common symptoms shared are joint
pain, chronic fatigue, muscle weakness, digestive disorders, anxiety and
metabolic disturbances. In Chinese medicine we view AI conditions as a
systemic imbalance. Wether due to deficiencies or excess, blockages or
lack of circulating Qi (energy), acupuncture can help restore proper balance
to the body while stimulating energy production and promoting proper blood
flow. Research has shown that acupuncture can also affect the release of
hormones, proteins and chemicals in the body, which can affect blood
pressure, increase production of white blood cells and strengthen the
immune system. With acupuncture, AI conditions can be managed
effectively allowing for the best quality of life.

10. You feel good and want to keep it that way
Americans are sick of being sick! We want a way to prevent diseases
instead of swallowing a pill for each symptom from which we suffer. However, as a culture we service our cars better than we do our bodies. It’s time to take control of our health and regain our vitality. We can do things now to invest in our health rather than go broke trying to manage our ill health later.
