We’ve made it to November, which means the holidays are upon us! Tis the season for parties galore, potluck dinners, gift shopping, traveling — and stress. Even though it’s a beautiful thing to spend time with friends and family during these joyous celebrations, there is definitely a certain amount of stress that comes with it.

When you walk through the doors to see us at Integrative Acupuncture, we want you to leave all of those worries at the door. You can breathe easy knowing you’ve just stepped into a “Safe Zone.” Acupuncture is just one of the many ways to help you cope with the stress that comes around this time of year, as it is incredibly calming and helps to relax the nervous system. Not only does it ease stress and anxiety, but it also can resolve issues that arise because of it — things like insomnia, digestive upset, fatigue and chronic pain.
Whether you’re constantly burdened with a mental checklist of things to do, dealing with a house full of friends and/or family members who are visiting, or preparing for a big event (or series of events), November and December can prove to really take a toll on a person’s health if stress is not handled properly.

Aside from getting in your regular acupuncture treatments, there are many other things you can do on your own time that will cool you down when you’re feeling the heat.
*Getting regular exercise
*Making sure to get enough restorative sleep
*Practicing mindful meditation
*Scheduling time to sit down and eat at a leisurely pace, rather than eating on-the-go
*Cutting your list of things to do down to a manageable, attainable size
*Realizing it’s okay to say “no” to things you don’t necessarily want to do

These might seem like simple things to do, but if you sit down and really think about it, you’ll realize you may be guilty of not doing them, especially during the holidays.

If you want to go the supplement route, these may do you some good: ashwagandha, L-theanine, lavender oil, magnesium, potassium and vitamins B12 and D. These can help boost your energy and resiliency during the holidays. Could be a great stocking stuffer…

Don’t wait until the stress has hit to start managing it. Get a head start. Make these simple lifestyle changes, and order any supplements you are comfortable taking. Our team is more than happy to help you understand each of them and their benefits if you would like more information before taking anything. And most importantly, schedule in your acupuncture treatment right away. We’re just one phone call away. Give us a shout at 561-819-0530 or fill out this form online.
